M7.4 earthquake hits western Colombia, serious damages reported from Cali, Quibdo and Manizales : An M7.4 earthquake hit western Colombia on Monday, leaving collapsed buildings in the cities of Cali and Manizales. The earthquake struck around 7:30 and had its epicenter in San Jose del Palmar, a municipality in the Choco province. In the hour that followed, locals began reporting collapsed buildings in the cities of Cali, Pereira and Manizales, where a tower of the cathedral collapsed. In Cali, an unknown number of people would be trapped under the rubble of two buildings and the local airport was reportedly closed. Large parts of the roof of the Pereira airport came down, according to local media. In Quibdo, the capital of Choco, a four-story building reportedly collapsed. Mi Amigo Radio La Auténtica : Mi Amigo Radio -La Auténtica- brengt het geluid van de de zeezender Radio Mi Amigo uit de jaren 70 terug. Met zondag 9 augustus om 12:00 uur weer een nieuwe aflevering van Baken 16. Met Bart van Leeuwen en Marc Jacobs, Maurice Bokkebroek en Johan Visser. In ‘Het Boord Gebeuren’ vertelt Marc Jacobs over de foto hiernaast. Verder iedere zaterdag en zondag een nieuwe aflevering van Stuurboord met Johan Visser. En ieder weekend De Playa Tapes met historische programma’s van de zeezender Mi Amigo. Met dit keer Peter van Dam.

Radio Caroline fundraiser (2) : Het ‘National Lottery Heritage Fund’ heeft Radio Caroline akkoord gegeven om verder te gaan met hun subsidieaanvraag. De subsidie van mogelijk 250.000 pond is bedoeld voor het groot onderhoud van het zendschip Ross Revenge. Radio Caroline heeft zelf al 500.000 pond aan donaties voor het onderhoud gekregen. Om de plek voor de Ross in het MMS Droogdok Hull veilig te stellen heeft Caroline het dok een voorschot van 50.000 pond betaald. Dit weekend organiseert Caroline een crowdfunding met live uitzendingen vanaf de Ross.

Radio Caroline fundraiser : Radio Caroline organiseert in het weekend van 7 t/m 10 augustus een crowdfunding voor het groot onderhoud van de Ross Revenge. Radio Caroline North verzorgd van vrijdag t/m zondag live uitzendingen vanaf de Ross Revenge op 648AM. Radio Caroline’s Album Channel presenteert van vrijdag t/m maandag de Radio Caroline Listener Top 500 Countdown. De nummer 1 van de Top 500 wordt maandagavond bekend gemaakt in de Fundraiser Wrap Up Show. Iedere donateur die zich tijdens het weekend aanmeld ontvangt een Caroline Gift.
