Zeezenders in augustus 1974 : Radio KL85 heeft in de week van 29 augustus 55 uur aan unieke en historische programma’s van de voormalige zeezenders. Met o.a. programma’s uit de laatste week van Radio Veronica, Radio Noordzee en Radio Atlantis in augustus 1974. Maar ook programma’s van Radio Caroline en Radio Mi Amigo uit augustus 1974. Met o.a. het nooit uitgezonden laatste Mi Amigo programma van Paul Severs en Tony Allan op Radio Caroline. Verder een tour over de Mebo II met Bob Noakes en Robin Banks en de laatste 5 uur van Mi Amigo 50.

Italy: Caroline DJs Tell the True Story of Riviera Radio Riviera Radio is the English-language station covering the French Riviera, “From San Remo to Saint-Tropez.” It currently broadcasts on 106.5 FM from Mont Agel, but in the late 1990s it broadcast on the former RMC Radio Monte Carlo frequency of 702 kHz. After being acquired by Global Radio, it changed its website and stated that the station “started as an initiative by Princess Grace to serve the English-speaking community along the French Riviera.” But this is far from the truth: Riviera Radio, originally known as  Radio Sovereign , was started by a group of pirate DJs, including some who had previously worked for Radio Caroline. 192TV herdenkt Veronica : Aanstaande maandag 31 augustus is het 52 jaar geleden dat de zeezender Radio Veronica haar uitzendingen op 31 augustus 1974 moest staken. Om dat te herdenken herhaalt 192TV een gedeelte van het programma dat het station uitzond op 31 augustus 2024. Dit programma is aanstaande maandag te zien van 13:00 tot 18:00 uur. 192TV zendt sinds 2011 24/7 de beste clips uit van de jaren 60 t/m 80 in een vormgeving van de voormalige zeezender Radio Veronica. 192TV is op vrijwel alle kabelnetten in Nederland en online te ontvangen.

De terugkeer van Caroline : Eén van de meest boeiende periodes in de geschiedenis van de zeezender Caroline is ongetwijfeld de terugkeer van het zendschip Mi Amigo voor de Nederlandse kust op 3 september 1972. De gebeurtenissen die daarna volgden in 1972 /1973 zijn minstens zo boeiend. Met o.a. testuitzendingen als Radio 199, het breken van de mast(en), de ‘muiterij’ aan boord, de terugkeer naar zee, de Nederlandse en Engelse Caroline programma’s, de uitzendingen van Veronica, Caroline op 2 golflengtes. Hans Knot schreef er een prachtig verhaal over.

Het Radio Monique-boek is vanaf september verkrijgbaar : Het is eindelijk zover, ‘Radio Monique de stem van de Noordzee’ ligt gedrukt en wel bij de boekbinder en verschijnt in september 2026. Jenni Baynton naar de werf : Het is zover, het radiolichtschip Jenni Baynton, Nederlands‘ enige zendschip, gaat naar de werf. Omdat na de vorige werfbeurt in 2009 heel wat jaren verstreken zijn, werd het voor het bestuur van de stichting ‘Vrienden van het Lichtschip’ een steeds belangrijker uitdaging om de Jenni Baynton weer eens uit het water te halen en het onderwaterschip schoon te maken, te inspecteren en weer flink in de verf te zetten. “We staan voor de week van 1 september op de planning, al kan dat nog een paar dagen uitlopen”, aldus de stichting.

Stevie Gordon Radio Caroline : Stevie Gordon is terug bij Radio Caroline. De radiomaker was in de jaren 70 al verbonden aan de zeezender en keert nu terug met een wekelijks programma. Gordon was 46 jaar geleden een van de laatste DJs die vanaf de Mi Amigo te horen was voordat het zendschip zonk. Stevie Gordons eerdere periode bij Radio Caroline kreeg een bijzondere plaats in de geschiedenis van de zeezender. Zijn laatste uitzending vanaf de MV Mi Amigo vond plaats tijdens de storm die uiteindelijk een einde maakte aan de uitzendingen vanaf het schip.

James Day overleden : James Day, voormalig DJ bij de zeezenders Radio Caroline en Laser 558 is overleden. Dat meldt Radio Caroline op haar Facebook pagina. James Day kwam in mei 1985 aan boord van het zendschip Ross Revenge. Later werd James Day kapitein van de Communicator, het zendschip van Laser 558, waar hij ook af en toe programma’s maakte. In januari 1988 keerde James Day terug naar Radio Caroline. In april 1988 stond James aan het roer van de Ross tijdens zwaar weer. Dat was de laatste keer dat de Ross Revenge op ‘eigen kracht’ voer.

Joop Verhoof Radio Atlantis : Extra Gold gaat op zaterdag 22 augustus en zondag 23 augustus terug in de tijd met historische zeezender uren. Op zaterdag naar 22 augustus 1973 met Joop Verhoof en “De Joop Verhoof Show” op Radio Atlantis. Op zondag naar 23 augustus 1974 met Leo van der Goot en “Driemaster” op Radio Noordee. Op zaterdag 22 augustus een Top 40 uit 1978 in de Historische Zaterdagmiddag Gebeurtenis. Meer zeezenders hoor je in Goud van Oud (Mi Amigo), Pirate Gold en de 19-tig show (Caroline). En natuurlijk Frans van der Drift live op donderdag.

Met zondag 9 augustus om 12:00 uur weer een nieuwe aflevering van Baken 16. Met Bart van Leeuwen en Marc Jacobs, Maurice Bokkebroek en Johan Visser. Radio Caroline fundraiser (2) : Het ‘National Lottery Heritage Fund’ heeft Radio Caroline akkoord gegeven om verder te gaan met hun subsidieaanvraag. De subsidie van mogelijk 250.000 pond is bedoeld voor het groot onderhoud van het zendschip Ross Revenge. Radio Caroline heeft zelf al 500.000 pond aan donaties voor het onderhoud gekregen. Om de plek voor de Ross in het MMS Droogdok Hull veilig te stellen heeft Caroline het dok een voorschot van 50.000 pond betaald. Dit weekend organiseert Caroline een crowdfunding met live uitzendingen vanaf de Ross.
