Channel 4 Sale

Thatcher's introduction of the commercially financed but government owned Channel 4 group was designed to show that the model could work, and to encourage more independent programme producers. Channel 4 do not get a penny from the license fee, or more accurately the BBC Tax. The BBC rarely produce their own programmes now, much of their output is sourced from the Shine Group, owned in part by the Murdoch family, hardly a small independent producer.  

This idea she stole from Tony Benn who in 1967 proposed the exact business model for Radio 247 to replace the Offshore Stations, he never wanted the BBC to run the replacement service. He was overruled and we ended up with the dire Radio One

Epson Scanners Windows 11 Missing Buttons Updated 22H2

Hidden away under Utilities is a file Epson Scan Common Updater v1.0.011/15/21 10.5 MB ESCU_W11.exe On the EU website this file is named Description :epson644093eu.exe This file contains the EPSON Scan Common Updater for Windows 11 v1.00. Compatible systems : Windows 11 This fixes the disappearing Epson Scan buttons Support Site > Utilities Update It does not solved the unloading drivers, the driver installation does not persist between reboots and installation is required almost every time to use the scanner, contrary to the FAQ on the Epson site there are no Windows 11 native drivers available, and if the Epson drivers are uninstalled and Windows 11 does not recognise the scanner   Update The disappearing dialogue buttons issue is back in Windows 11 22H2 update, no fixes from Epson seen so far, but reinstalling the previous patch seems to fix it. Old medium wave transmitter Radio 10 Gold to Radio Caroline : The former English sea transmitter Radio Caroline has been broadcasting since last week with more power on the medium wave. For this, the station has purchased a 'new' station and there is a Dutch touch to it: it is the old medium-wave transmitter that Radio 10 Gold used until 2013. Before Radio 10 acquired a national FM lot in 2013, the station broadcast as Radio 10 Gold at 828 kHz from Heinenoord under Rotterdam. A 20 kW medium wave transmitter (Harris DX25) was used for this.
